A clean air fryer is essential for consistent cooking results. Built-up grease and food residue on the basket, drawer, and heating element affects airflow, causes smoke, produces unpleasant smells, and can even affect the taste of your food. Regular cleaning also extends the life of your appliance significantly.
Our cleaning scheduler generates a personalised routine based on how often you use your air fryer and its size, giving you clear tasks to do after each use, weekly, and monthly.
The basket and drawer should be washed with warm soapy water after every use. Most are dishwasher safe, but hand washing with a soft sponge extends the life of the non-stick coating. Never use abrasive pads or metal utensils that can scratch the coating.
For baked-on grease that won't come off with soapy water, make a paste of baking soda and a small amount of water. Apply to the affected area, leave for 10–15 minutes, then scrub gently with a soft brush and rinse thoroughly.
The heating element (the coil above the basket) collects grease splatter over time. When completely cool, gently brush with a soft toothbrush or pastry brush. Do not use water directly on the element. Always ensure it's fully dry before next use.
After removing the basket and drawer, wipe the interior cavity with a damp cloth and a little mild detergent. Grease builds up on the walls and can cause smoking during cooking if not cleared regularly.
